I’m writing you while sitting in camp Deli outside Junin de Los Andes, 40 km from San Martin. No internet for us while navigating because Google Fi only lasted 3 months into our travels. We didn’t read the fine print which said that Google Fi does allow global international coverage however the majority of use must be within the US. We are 4.5 months into our travels in South America. Google Fi cut off at the 3 month mark. Now piecing together free WiFi access points, “tuenti” cards, “flexiroam”, researching satellite coverage to navigate and communicate with you all. Smiles.
Traveling from Parque National Laguna Blanca: highway 46 to 23 to 40. We are able to follow our dot on a map without data which has been super helpful in navigating. Yesterday, we followed the fainter yellow highway between the park (Mike’s face locating our last internet service) and our camp. In general we are headed south now.Herding dog working sheep crossing the street. He stands in the road to slow traffic as his herd crosses. By the look in his eyes he might get treats this way as well. Maybe, these aren’t even his sheep.Dog’s flock in the shrubs safely across.The start of some spectacular geology Rock guyName of spot recommended to us by the park ranger last night. Also may be where many of the evidence of sea life were found and now displayed in the park visitor center.An Argentinan family sold us a lamb when we stopped roadside. They were packed up in their car for camping looking to sell 2 slaughtered lambs they were carrying ready for sale in their car. Options, we turned left…Heading to Junin de Los Andes, small town for carbon (charcoal), ice and groceries.The most beautiful river, one of many most beautiful riversCamp El Deli recommended on ioverlander as cheap and simple. It was that.The lamb at camp, the camphost lent her parrilla (grill) to us. We are not great at this type of cooking, took 5 hours.Niles in the morning looking at the dishes to be done.Horses and bathrooms. Beautiful views in every direction.Goats in camp. Eventually, a gaucho on horseback came through and trotted them out of camp.Quick swim in the Rio Chimehuen, same river we cross to enter Parque National Lanin, next stop.
Stayed on the Rio Negro in General Rojas, Argentina. The camp was riverside near many other day use spots. Wild horses are throughout the forests and banks here. After this short paddle with Gypsy to find the current much too strong to go upstream out of the eddy, Mike and I did a trip the next morning the other side of the bridge.

The morning trip was a put in near golf course-like shores up-river from our camp. We played around in the eddies there then cruised back to camp to pack up and get on the road toward Parque National Laguna Blanca, Patagonia, Argentina.
